12V Bulkhead luminaire is a special SELV Class 111 luminaire. This product is intended for use with 12V AC/DC SELV lighting systems only. Do not use the product on a 240V mains supply.

If an existing electrical installation is already in place or in service, the 12V DC lighting system must be kept totally separate and isolated. It must not be integrated or made part of that system. 12V DC & 240V AC cables must not be installed in the same conduits.

Wiring colours within a 12V DC SELV circuit are RED (+ve) and BLACK (-ve) in contrast to 240V AC mains circuits which are BROWN ( L) and BLUE (N). Do not use 240V mains cable in a 12V DC circuit.

The luminaire has an E27 lampholder with red / black connection wires to the terminal block as required for non-mains applications. The red wire is connected to the centre contact of the lampholder and the black wire to the outer shell to ensure the correct polarity for the inverter built into the 12V CFL lamp.
