All solar panels* require a voltage regulator to ensure that the battery is not overcharged and to provide:

· Overload protection

· Deep discharge protection

*Solar panels rated 5W do not require a charge controller if used with a battery of > 33Ah

*Solar panels rated 10W do not require a charge controller if used with a battery of > 70Ah

The Morningstar SHS-6 solar controller is fully automatic and requires no adjustments or user selections. It has built-in electronic fuses that do not require replacement. Any wiring mistakes during installation will not damage the controller.

The controller will maximise the amount of solar energy transferred into the battery. Thereby ensuring complete charging and storage capacity as well as increasing the battery life.

The low voltage disconnect feature automatically disconnects the load when the battery is low and reconnects it after the battery has charged.

Suitable for use with 100W solar panel or 6A for solar and load.

Morningstar 10L:12 Solar Charge Controller Order Code 8070

The Morningstar 10L-12 solar controller is an advanced solar charge controller combined with a 10-function automatic lighting controller. The microprocessor provides precise lighting control. A rotary digital switch enables selection among the 10 lighting options : see chart below. It detects day and night using the PV array so that it can switch lighting on and off at dawn and dusk. Sunrise overrides the lighting timer. Special on-off-on lighting function. Timer accuracy is within 2 seconds. LVD operation overrides lighting timer. Manual test capability : test button turns lights on for 5 minutes.
