Use in open areas with a clear view of the target creature or area to be protected for best effect. Suitable for fixed installation for indoor or outdoor use. A light sensor inhibits daytime operation to save energy.

Each time the animal enters the protected area it hears the ultrasonic alarm (calibrated to be extremely loud to foxes ears but inaudible to humans). As the animal retreats the alarm sound recedes and in this way the animal learns to associate its movement with the noise and give a wide berth to the protected area.

The 12V Ultrasonic Badger and Fox Deterrent emits a high level of broad spectrum ultrasonic sound which will deter foxes, badgers, cats and dogs. If you would prefer, the unit can be programmed to deter a specific type of animal, but this can also be modified on-site. Producing a wide ultrasonic frequency range normally results in reduced effective distance, but the 12V Ultrasonic Badger and Fox Deterrent is powerful enough to operate at well over 16-18m directly in front of the unit.

The unique ultrasound frequency pattern comprises a series of alarm frequencies in the range 40-45kHz - audible only to badgers, foxes, cats and dogs. This ultrasonic noise is absolutely safe and set well above the level that can be heard by humans (20kHz), but is does cause the target animal a degree of discomfort up to 20m away. It does not harm the animal in any way.

It is currently against the law to knowingly disturb the comings and goings of a badger set. If in doubt, please take advice from your local RSPCA office.
