The SHS range is intended to provide power where installing a mains supply would be inconvenient or too expensive.

In many cases, it is just not feasible to run an electricity supply to remote buildings.

The SPS system is easily erected and the solar panel can be taken inside when leaving the building. That may be a desirable feature for example with beach huts where vandalism may be a problem. The SHS system can be safely locked away when you leave the building. It can be taken home at the end of the season to prevent theft or vandalism.

The SPS system is not just intended for beach huts and is suitable for other uses too:

· Position the solar panel

· Install the battery in its box

· Connect solar panel to the box

· Connect inverter to the box

· Switch on

· Start using your free solar power.

The battery box is pre-wired and you only have to connect the red and black wire to the battery at the terminals marked red and black.

The battery comes pre-charged.



The SPS60 Kit delivers up to 240 Wh (Watt hours) per day and can typically power appliances such as lighting, power tools, power tool battery chargers, car vac, horse clippers, alarm systems etc for between 2 ~ 4 hours per day.

If longer run times or additional appliances need to be powered a bigger SPS kit should be considered or the addition of an 60W SPS expansion kit.

SPS performance

Solar systems work most efficiently during the Spring, Summer and Autumn months of the year. They are still effective during the winter but the performance is much reduced. The table above taken from the sunbird website shows the expected performance of a 60W solar panel over the course of a year.
